When one or more vertebrae lose their normal position, they interfere with the nerves they were meant to protect. This interference can cause pressure or irritation on the spinal cord and/or on the nerve roots as they pass out of the spinal column. This misalignment of the vertebrae and pinching of the nerves is called a subluxation and is the most common aspect of what doctors call the vertebral subluxation complex.

What can you expect from a visit to Dixon Chiropractic Clinic? First, Dr. Dixon will begin with taking the time to talking with you about your body aches and pains. Do not be concerned if this is the first time you have been to a Chiropractor or an Acupuncturist. Dr. Dixon is very down to earth and will take the time to answer your questions so you will feel at ease. He will do a thorough examination and will assess your areas of concern,as well as carefully considering your health history. Doctor Dixon is trained in reading and taking x-ray’s which he will review with you and explain what they show. If further advanced imaging is needed he will order MRI’s or CT’s to make the proper diagnosis of symptoms. In order to make an accurate diagnosis he may ask for an x-ray of your back and neck (if needed). Only after this initial examination will Dr. Dixon offer a recommended course of treatment. Based on the analysis of your initial examination and symptoms, your treatment could consist of chiropractic adjustments, therapies, rehabilitation, Acupuncture or CDL physicals and drug testing.
